Cyborgs: More Than Machines
review 1: This is the fourth installment of the cyborg series and is about the grumpy Aramus and human doctor Riley. This contains more action scenes than the last one and I enjoyed it fully. I only wish that the story is longer than it should be and that the development of the feelings of the couple is not that fast. The declaration of Aramus in the end is not really sweet for me, it seems like he just demand that Riley should be with him. Anyway, I longed to read Seth's story which is also interesting.
review 2: I love the cyborg series. I also make it a point to buy most (if not all) of Eve Langlais' books. She just does it for me. That being said--Aramus was a good story, but it didn't hit all the notes for me. I enjoyed Aramus' crusty, hardassed persona. I even like
... mored Riley. There were just bumps in the story that kept me from totally falling in love with them. The pacing of the story was good. There were unfortunately certain skipped moments I think would have added emotional impact and made me more invested. I also didn't quite understand some of Riley's decisions regarding Aramus. I felt like they didn't quite fit in with the terrible ordeal she'd experienced when the book began. I don't regret buying this book. I simply hope for more oomph with the next. less
