review 1: I enjoyed this book. It is a very sweet love story with little angst. It is an insta-love story which I know is a turn off for many people. For some reason it just works in this book (for me at least.) Beau is a mechanic from a small town. He is a free-spirit who enjoys his fun but he also knows exactly what he wants from life. Mason is his exact opposite. He lives a sterile life with little to no fun. He isn't even aware that he has dreams for his life. In the beginning Mason is a bit of a pompous ass but Beau sees the vulnerability in him and sets out to bring joy into his live. I loved both of these characters. Beau is a bit rough around the edges but he is so careful with Mason. Mason has been raised to believe he has little worth. His journey to self-acceptance is tou... moreching to witness. The book was almost completely centered on the couple. There is little interaction with other characters. Even with their brief page time Beau's family seemed so accepting. I would have liked to see more of them. Mason's mom however made quite an impact with her the small amount of page time. I've read about worse fictional moms but she is pretty far up there. My only complaint about the book is that the ending seemed a little abrupt to me. There is a full-on HEA but the romantic in me wanted to see a little bit of their life after the "ride off into the sunset" moment. I do love me an epilogue! I recommend this book for anyone who wants a sweet romance and isn't opposed to insta-love stories.
review 2: I'm not sure what I was expecting from this story. Maybe I'm just jaded, but how do authors think we believe their characters fall so in love in less than four days that they are willing to give up their current, posh, life and move to small town America to get married and start a family?Don't get me wrong, I liked the story, I liked the characters, I just disliked the time line.Beau's insight into Mason's secrets is something we all long for in a partner, I just can't accept the four day time line. less
