review 1: Beautifully colored art, lyrical writing, interesting concept. Not the strongest in terms of plotline; more like a long, drawn-out portrait of one character study. If you're looking for something character driven and a little mysterious and lovely, then this is it. It's you're looking for a cohesive story with action or adventure, this is not for you. Quite liked it and would recommend for a quiet, thought-provoking art-based read.
review 2: I do not usually take the star-rating system too seriously, but it can be great for comics, as here: 5 stars for the art/coloring, 1 star for the writing, and we arrive at 3 stars. The art is wonderful: the figure-drawing and backgrounds classically Eisnerian, the storytelling efficient but lyrical, the coloring subtle and ... morea beautiful aesthetic unity. The writing: thin, gimmicky, and relentlessly platitudinous (did you know that we all die?). All in all, I would rather hang it on my wall than read it. less
