review 1: 3.5 stars. Firstly, this is a novel. The title confused me. It is an interesting view of life after the first- born child and how it affects lifestyle, husband/partner relationships, friends, work, freedom. More importantly, how our priorities shift. How questions of love and commitment changes; the difference between love of the father of the child and that of the child. Not an exercise in genius writing, not bad either, but an engaging easy read.
review 2: It was about 75% of the way through that I realised it wasn't a great book but it did have some interesting points to make about women. Then the last part of the book was just horrifying and unnecessarily awful. I thought the perception of the woman with two kids was pretty negative on the whole an
... mored the situations so contrived. However I suppose it did show some indepth to how woman think and perceive others - most of the time before knowing each other very well. less

I thought it would have a bit more of a twist. Became a bit predictable in the end.
