review 1: A truly wonderful novel, I have waited for this and it was worthwhile and I truly love these characters. This book made me cry and sigh and touched my heart in so many ways. The characters live on in the readers mind for so much longer and even weeks after finishing this novel the reader is thinking what will happen next. This novel is perfect and I want to continue to read about these characters. Where will this life take Jenny and the cast of characters in the future, the swinging 60's , the 70's and so on, will their perfume be as outstanding as I imagine it would be? Will Jenny grow up and be a designer ? What will Luc be doing in the future and will he return to Tasmania again? I did not want this novel to end and I know I will pick this up again and again just like ... morethe Lavender Keeper as well. This author has taken us to the past with these 2 glorious novels and we have been able to almost live there whilst we read these 2 books. Please give us another novel to continue this wonderful rich story.
review 2: Loved this book and it's prequel - The Lavender Keeper. I'm not sure why the kindle version I created didn't combine with this one but never mind. The story of Luc & Lisette had me engrossed for the word go & the horrors of WW2 were bought to life. The one anomaly for me was the early introduction of Jane. This threw me a little but I assumed it would all make sense further into the book which it did but wonder if her story could have been left to when she first met Luc?? less
