review 1: Callum and Harper were two unfortunate orphans. They had been flipping through foster homes since they were little. Sadly, they suffer from the ‘eighteen disease’ which is when foster parents no longer get benefits from housing them, so they get kicked out. Lucky for them they meet each other at Social Services and fall in love. Neither of them realized it at first, but they had a very happy ending together. There were really only two main characters, as the title says. Callum became an orphan when he was four years old. His parents both died in a car accident and he had no family to take care of him. He flipped through foster homes until he was too old and was kicked out. Harper, on the other hand, was left at the hospital she was born at. They both had a rough childho... moreod, which is what brought them together. This story took place on the rugged streets of New York City. It was the end of summer and it was beginning to get too cold for them to be able to sleep outside. They flip from house to house until they finally find a stable place to stay. The theme of this story was to expect the unexpected. These two teenagers had to live by this theme. They never knew what tomorrow was going to bring them. They were lucky to meet each other that day. They never expected to fall in love with someone so perfect in the Social Services office. Finally, for my recommendation, I loved reading this book. I enjoyed the split book, half was Callum talking the other half was Harper. Neither knew they were in love with each other, which was the best part. I recommend this book to high school students and adults. It is kind of a tough read but definitely worth it.
review 2: I finished this book in much less than 24 hours and I'm quite proud of that.Well where do I begin? Callum and Harper was the story of these helpless teens who have nothing and nowhere to go, being that both have no family and have no access to fostering help as they were adults. This story made me feel helpless in a way I thought not possible. It's inspirational in the sense that though th they are constantly being pulled through a devastating set of circumstances, they persevere and keep their heads held high. The entire novel continually bounced back and forth between Callum's POV and Harper's POV, which I both loved and found very frustrating as the author, of course, frequently implemented dramatic irony into the story. One complaint I do have is the random time lapse that occurs because honestly I don't find it realistic that two individuals who are insanely attracted to each other can live in the same place (THE SAME BED FOR CHRIST'S SAKE) for a span of TWO YEARS and keep their relationship completely platonic. Other than that, I believe that the author successfully portrayed the hopeless and desperate characteristics of the pair.I give this 4 Stars because though it was a great read, at times it seemed that the author did not really know where the story was going and added John's part in the story to spice things up a bit. less

I skipped so many pages, yet I didn't miss a thing. It started OK, but it went down hill from there.
