review 1: This book in the series was good for some chuckles, as usual. Savannah is a Southern Belle who can insult someone with all the Southern Charm she can muster up! Do not mess with her!! And if her husband, Dirk, doesn't shape up with keeping the bathroom tidy, he will be in for some of her "kill him with charm" technique!! When he left the seat up and she went in there at 3:00 A.M. and got quite a shock to her tush, You might think old Dirk would be a goner right then and there!! Especially since her in-laws were unwitting witnesses to the drama!!!! This series stays true to it's humor and not letting you guess "who done it" until all is revealed.
review 2: Hours after attending a premiere (celebrating Ryan and John's friend's new film), Savannah and Dirk f... moreind themselves investigating that star's death - trying to determine if it's an accident or homicide. In addition, they're up to their necks in home projects in preparation for meeting certain family members for the first time. (Yes, I know this review is vague, but I don't want to give anything away.) I shed lots of tears while reading this book. It was nice to see the more vulnerable side of Dirk. And, I love watching the new dynamics among people and cats in the household unfold. I'd say the personal part of the story resonated with me more so than the investigation did (although it was good, too). I will say, though, that the bathroom incident was not a favorite scene of mine. Nevertheless, I can't wait to read the next installment! less
