review 1: I read this book while my now-husband and I were dating. It rocked my world then, and 3 years later, I'm still being challenged by Gary Thomas' book. It's easy to be happy when you're dating someone, but a lot harder when you're married and living the daily grind with someone. Remembering that marriage is meant to make me holy, more like Jesus, rather than just make me happy is so fundamentally different than what the world sets marriage up to be. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, married or single!
review 2: A lot is packed into this book. It is stuff I even haven't thought about before. Some of it is skim worthy, but mostly read the bullet points. Some chapters are more engrossing than others, depending on your relationship. I do like the run... morening theme that - Marriage won't fulfill you, but will make you more holy. I really loved reading the history put into his writing. It's very well thought out. less
