review 1: After reading the first book in the Amish Farm Trilogy I rushed out and bough the second and third and read them both back to back. Roper has spun magic throughout this series and it makes for obsessive reading. She excels at characterization -- developing relationships that are fraught with complication and angst but somehow still laced with hope. And there's always an emphasis on spiritual truths that make me pause and take stock of my own life.
review 2: Previously published as The Decision, A Rose Revealed is a bit different type of an Amish book. It is set in Amish country and some of the characters in the story are Amish, but Rose the main character is not Amish. Rose is a visiting nurse/home health nurse, and has worked among the Amish for years, she al
... moreso was raised in the same area, so she knows much about Amish tradition. When a horrifying explosion leaves Rose dazed and confused, and her patient and the patient's son dead, Rose collapses. The horror of all that she saw overwhelms her bringing back horrible memories of the death of her father and younger sister. Thankfully for Rose her breakdown takes place in the driveway of the Zook farm. The Zook's are friends of Rose and they take her in for the weekend. Rose had worked for them, when Mary Zook hurt her leg and needed a nurse. Unfortunately for Rose, she soon discovers that someone is looking for her and it is not with good intentions they want to kill her. Her apartment is bombed, killing a person, and the police let the media believe that person is Rose. Rose is instructed to go into hiding, not letting anyone know she is alive, until the police figure out who is trying to kill her.A fast paced story, with many stories woven into the main one, you will enjoy reading this book. This was the first Gayle Roper Amish story I have reviewed and I loved it!! It was my perfect story, Amish, mystery and love.
