review 1: This book took me quite some time to finish, which is very rare for me, because when I start a book, I'd want to finish it as quickly as possible to attend to all the other books seeking my attention. But does that diminish the quality of this book? No.Decision Points is a new way to look at Bush 43's tenure as President of the United States. Yes, of course it covers up the very complicated truths as most autobiographies of Presidents usually would, but let's cut every President some slack for that. If we were them, we wouldn't want the whole world to know about the ugliness of some things. In this book, President Bush looks back on the important decisions he's made as President, but not before having a few chapters about his young life with his mother and father. It gives r... moreeaders a glimpse of the normal George Walker Bush, to whom we should all pay consideration too as well.
review 2: "W" takes a lot of criticism for Iraq and the recession that began near the end of his second term and still gets blamed for problems in the present administration. This memoir outlines the issues in play at the time provides his explanation for the decisions that were made. He has the benefit of hindsight, possibly with a little spin, but most of his decisions seem sound. Liberals will probably not change their opinion based on this book, but conservatives who sometimes questioned his motives will enjoy the inside look at a turbulent 8 years.Footnote on the WMD issue: "The New York Times reported that American troops found roughly 5,000 chemical warheads, shells and aviation bombs since the Iraq War began. Then last week The Washington Post reported the Islamic State terrorist group had used chlorine gas against Iraqi police officers." Ref: The Daily Signal 11/03/14. less
