The Umbrella Academy
review 1: With sharp dialogue and beautiful artwork, Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba bring a book that any Watchmen fan would enjoy. When I say that The Umbrella Academy: Dallas is an amazing graphic novel, I really mean it. The book is about a family of superheroes trying to cope with the destruction of their mansion, death of their beloved chimp, Mr. Pogo, and the return of their time-traveling brother, Number Five(this all happens during The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite). When Number Five is targeted by the secret organization of time-traveling hit-men, whom he used to work for, to go back in time and prevent his past self from rebelling against his mission: Assassinating President John F. Kennedy. With a story-line so crazy that it actually makes perfect sense, Dallas is the per... morefect comic book for any comic fan or for any avid reader. I would recommend this book to anyone,Comic fan or not, because this is such a fun and creative book that basically anyone could enjoy it.
review 2: I love the art from the brothers Fabio Moon and Gabriel Bra, it's so expressive and unique, so that was probably my main reason for reading this. But it's actually a good story! Filled with crazy super-heros, pop culture references and some drugs. But it's written in a way that it doesn't become some dumb empty story.I read it all in one night at my job at the bookstore, and now I can't wait to read the other volumes! less

Yeah, this felt a bit slapdash. I wanted to know more about their origins, and this...was not that.

I actually liked this one better than the first, but am still not really in love with these books.

Slightly more coherent than the last one. Still impressed with Gabriel Ba's art.

Excellent pacing, just like it's predecessor, and a great story in my opinion.

In which Gerard Way wages a battle to out-weird himself. And wins.
