review 1: This is a pretty formulaic read. Paolo, a journalist for a Neapolitan newspaper, catches his girlfriend and his boss together. Depressed and heartbroken, he ends up writing for a third-rate men's interest magazine. His new boss sends him to cover a class on "how to pick up girls", which is taught by the beautiful Valeria. Originally doutbtful, Paolo becomes a convert to Valeria's methods when he realizes they seem him more attractive to his ex. In the meantime, Valeria herself is more concerned with her ailing father, a romantic who does not believe in using tricks or techniques for finding true love. In the end, of course, Paolo and Valeria realize they are meant to be together.As I said : a pretty formulaic story from an author who declares on the cover flap that his dre... moream is to be the Neapolitan Nick Nornby. The best part of the book are the appearances by Ciro, Paolo's self-proclaimed best friend, a pastry-gobbling loser, who may, at the end, turn out to have benefited most from Valeria's lessons.
review 2: 7 horas para enamorarte y 5 horas para leerte. Una comedia romántica bastante divertida que he devorado casi sin querer.Esta historia de fácil lectura me ha resultado agradable e interesante de principio a fin. Sin ser muy hábil en su narrativa, ni con una lírica compleja, la historia se desarrolla en capítulos muy cortos que podrían haber sido juntados en muchos menos capítulos, pero que esconden una historia agradable de leer y que cuesta dejar de leer.Tiene una línea muy marcada en las comedias románticas Italianas que recuerdan a los inicios de Federico Moccia pero es quizás algo mas adulta de los libros de Moccia que están algo mas dirigidos hacia Adolescentes que este libro que está mas dirigido a una edad adulta.No considero que sea el mejor libro que me he leído, pero el argumento resulta muy agradable de leer y te deja con una sonrisa en la boca durante unos dias.Muy recomendable si te gustan las comedias románticas. less
