review 1: Fast paced, very funny, great characters, not to mention sci-fi pirates, spys etc. I had to read it in a sitting and laughed out loud in so many sections, my family thought I was nuts. It is such an amazing talent to write something that brings laughter into someones life. I don't want to write much more because I love going into a book pretty much with no idea of plot, just trusting the author; I don't usually read the blurb if I can help it. I loved Gini Koch's Kitty Kat Alien series and that was enough for me and she totally came through.
review 2: This is a fairly light tale, with a large dose of humour. The characters are likeable, and the hero follows in the fine sci-fi tradition of likeable rogues, such as the Stainless Steel Rat. The story is reasona
... morebly well-written, and flows at a good pace, but the plot does throw up the occasional surprise, although they are usually pretty well telegraphed. The book doesn't end on a cliff-hanger, but I can certainly see further stories being written in this series. less
