review 1: I'm really loving this series! I'd waited so long to start the first book, THE LAST STORMLORD, because it was thick - like 674 pages thick and I didn't have the time to wade through an epic fantasy with thousands of world building details and family histories like George RR Martin and JRR Tolkien - both excellent writers and, when I had more time - I loved those books. However while this series is epic fantasy it is an easy read - I just sailed through the pages even though there's plenty of cool world building like Pedes - giant centipedes that they ride on! And I was wondering why when it hit me. The characters drive the story - all the world building is shown through the characters and not explained in lumps of exposition. Plus the characters are engaging and well dra... morewn and likable or detestable - I'd like to b*tch slap Larisa!I already have the third and final book, STORMLORD EXILE in hand and will read it. I'm just taking a little break with something different before returning to my friends in the Quartern.
review 2: Second book in the Stormlord series - just as good as the first! Loved it and will be reading book 3. This is epic fantasy that really doesn't read like an epic fantasy - the characters are so engaging and there's not a ton of world building details to slog through like LOTR - not that LOTR isn't amazing, but when you have a ton of stuff going on in your world and don't have the mental stamina to keep track of everything it's harder to read. This book is not hard to read. less

This dragged a lot for me but I really want to know what happens to these characters.

The first half was SO SLOW. Amnesia is not a fun plot device.
