review 1: Yes, I read it and no, it wasn't smutty. Just lots of sexual tension & kissing. In a hot tub sans clothing. Nothing really happened. Interesting nugget of knowledge: Curran wants Kate in a 4-Evah kind of way, not just in a wham-bam-thankyou-ma'am kinda way. We sort of suspect this & of course Kate thinks Curran only views her as a challenging booty-call. He's the Alpha of the entire pack. He wants her as his mate, I'm guessing that's their way of marrying. Is that even allowed? Would she become the female alpha? I'm guessing that's gonna go over really well with the beasties. On to Magic Bleeds to see how this all unfolds. She still owes him dinner :-D
review 2: There is something about this pair that is just magnetic. I enjoy the Curran POV shorts almost as mu... morech as the full books. It's interesting to get Curran's thoughts in the mix instead of just his reactions and interaction as Kate interprets them. This time it takes us back to the cage fight and Curran's hot tub rendezvous with Kate before Derrick interrupts with the hand in the box. Kate might not be a shifter, but her stubbornness is certainly a rival for Curran's or any of her other shapeshifter friends. less
