review 1: I got this as an audiobook from the Humble Audiobook Bundle. I started this one first, because it had an interesting synopsis. In actual fact the audiobook had no plat and just seemed to ramble on about something then ramble about something else entirely irrelevant to the previous point. This went on for a while, until I gave up with it. I reached the end of chapter four, but gained nothing after the first ten minutes. Also there was no distinction between any of the chapters. Perhaps the written book was better but I really didn't enjoy this book. review 2: Great book. Basically from the POV of a weird, hipster vampire, ESP,homeless, drifter runway woman, who tramps around Oregon having sex with punker vegan dudes, getting raped by drifters and merging with th... moree organic minutiae of the Oregon forest. organic/orgasmic/orgone machine fevered style is the key here, if you cant deal with that read another book! Its kind of like the greatest Lydia Lunch novel never written, total grrl style, surprised this book isnt a bigger cult legend, highly recommended for fans of William s burroughs, kathy Acker and lautremont, if fact it reminded me alot of Maldoror but set amongst Portland Oregon hipster, drifter, druggoes. less
