review 1: Although I only gave the book 3 stars, I did feel compelled to finish it. It was tough to read at times, with graphic descriptions of the murders but what annoyed me more than anything was the writer's habit of adding in 'Irish sayings' that nobody in Ireland ever uses! It was very obvious that it was not an Irish person that wrote the book, but for any sadists out there you'll probably love it ;-)
review 2: An excellent murder mystery book but boy does this author not like the Irish priest hood who get a good old bashing all the way through. I love the Katie Maguire character and this is the second book with her leading the murder enquiry. It also follows up on her private life from where it left off in White Bones. The story leaves you reeling from the off
... moreand I found it difficult to put down as Katie discovers the motive behind the crimes. less
