review 1: Danny and his father have recently moved to a small town in Canada. After his mom passed away they have moved around a lot. Danny has made friends with a rowdy bunch who tend to get in a lot of trouble. One night when Danny is walking home he gets attacked by a creature that is anything but normal. He manages to escape and tells himself the next day that it was the cold getting to his head, but he soon learns that this small town has been keeping a secret and there is a reason behind all of the teenager disapearances and it is not that they have run away. Danny and his friends stumble upon the truth but unfortunately it's not saving them from being hunted by the creature from Harvest Cove. I would recommend this book to teenagers ages 13 and up.
review 2:
... moreHarvest Cove, Canada is in the middle of one of the coldest winters on record when Danny and his father seek refuge there after the death of Danny's mother. It seems small, secluded, and safe until one night when Danny is attacked by a giant monster in the ice...or is he? Fast-paced, non-stop action across the ice will appeal to reluctant readers looking for a creepy story or who enjoy stories of Sasquatch. Solid, tight writing makes this one a keeper. less
