review 1: Super Cute book. Love the geek guy who isn't just a social anxiety nut (only some of the time) and the plus size girl that loves her body but life has cause her to have doubts in her mind. I think it got a little slow at the end and I feel like some things maybe should have been spelled out a little bit more. But this book is definitely a show not a tell kind of book.Also it is very clear that the author has spent time in the bay area. As an east bay resident I loved all the little references.
review 2: It started off so WONDERFUL! It was clever. It had humor. I didn't hate the characters. But then near the end it just kind of rushed everything. I never really bought that the characters were really in love. And several small plot points just sort of vanished. ... moreEx: What happened to Mark's concern that Rose was an extrovert while he was an introvert? And then there's the matter of the family. Romance writers always have a way of shoving the hero or heroine's family into their lives in a very intrusive way. Maybe it's just because my family isn't very close, but this always puts me off of the story. And this one took it to the extreme. The families are always so cheesy and loving and it pisses me off. less
