Book Blurb –

Laurel has always lived as an ordinary girl – but now something is happening to her. Something magical. In this enchanting tale of magic, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever.

My Thoughts –

I brought this book simply for the front cover, hoping that the inside would be just as good. It was a holiday buy kind-of-book, and I am so glad that I picked this book. It was such a great read, I really want to read the rest of the series, but have no idea where I can get the rest of the books. It is a great first book in a series of books.

The story follows a young girl Laurel, a bit different to the rest of the people around her, but never thought any more of it. Not until she gets out of home-schooling and has to go to proper high school. Here is where she meets David. Her knight in shining armour in many different ways. As the two of them work through their science homework, the two of them work out exactly what Laurel is and why she is so different to everyone. Fast-forward to a fast paced, everything is happening kind-of ending and you get one hell of a different fantasy novel.

Okay, so the writing in this book is nothing flash hot. I even found a few grammatical and spelling errors throughout the book, but that won’t stop me from loving this book. It is about faeries, and so much more. It is about body image, family, money and first loves. David is one hell of a trooper through the whole novel, never spilling or threatening to spill Laurels secret.

It is a bit slow at the beginning, but then all of a sudden you are smacked in the face with a fistful of action that you don’t know what is up or down anymore. Faeries, trolls, David and Laurel’s charming family all make one hell of an adventure book.

If you are looking for a out of this world Faerie book that will make you smile and cry, then this is the book for you.

I give this book 4.5 out of 5 Booky Stars!
