review 1: Sides has written a true-crime thriller about James Earl Ray’s stalking and killing of Martin Luther King Jr., and the subsequent hunt for Ray before his capture. Sides paints a believable portrait of the assassin and his motivations. He also depicts a multidimensional King, as well a racially divided United States. The story is full of detail, but it didn’t become cumbersome or slow down this page-turner. Sides writing was so effective it made me feel like I was right there witnessing it all.

... moretil the very end. I HIGHLY recommend this book. This book has really influenced my perspective on my things, (poverty, race relations, inflammatory speech, just to name a few). This is one of those books I'm so thankful to have come across. less
