review 1: When she starts out, Anne starts off by recording quite mundane details about her life; her comments about her family, friends, school life, etc. are very ordinary to the point of tedious. However, the confined living in the annexe with 7 other people, makes her mature a great deal. It is fascinating to watch this young author develop; she becomes deeply phylosphical, insightful, mostly optomistic, and often very humourous. It is a wonderful, yet sad journey the reader travels with Anne. I felt numb when I got to the lines, 'Anne's diary ends here.' Should be read by everyone.
review 2: The Diary of Anne Frank is a very good and touching book about two families that had to go into hiding durring World War II. The writers purpose for this book was to let the re
... moreader know what was going on in the secret annex. Anne wanted to let the readers know what it was like to live in hiding. The theme of the book was that when you have a loving family and friends arround you can get through anything. This book was nonfiction becouse the things in the book realy happened. I thought this was a very good book. it realy makes you think of how we take advantage of little every day things, like being able to talk durring the day and going for a small walk. less

This book goes very deep into Anne's feelings, but it lacks that wow factor.
