Polecam fanom gatunku.
review 2: Not sure how many
... more people actually read my reviews or if they like them, but those who do know i enjoy writting wage reviews based solely on my personal enjoyment. Not much about technical side, not too deep into the plot, just read and write the moments after feel of the book. Not this time.Ok. one thing that actually confused me about this book? Why is the ranking so low? I wanted to get a little perspectie and find how many books in the series i have to look forward to so i`ve done the obvious - went to check out what the author had to say.Only three book in the series, an open end, a not-renewed contract and complaints by readers about the things i enjoyed most about the book. ???? Come on people - different does NOT mean BAD! Just DIFFERENT. Having a lead that does not automatically know what the hell is going but has to figure it along the way using just smarts and what he sees and hears does NOT detrack from the story.OK. enough ranting. Back to the book.Loved it (the rant above might have clued you in :)). The lead is a ordinary guy, with a lot of bad luck, guts, more bravado than brain at times and a deep need to know what the heck is going before it kills him.The story is more believable because (and this is something many did not like) an ex-con (the lead) is not fully initiated into a secret society, not taught the ropes as he is expendable (being in deep shit with the society and all), and used as cannon fodder for a large part of the book. Why i think it is more believable this way? Many times i read a book i really like, absolutelly adore and would recommend to my friends profuselly and still think: Yeah like that would really happen! while reading it. I mean you meet a person you dont really know, or someone that has done something horrible but you just go and spill the deepest, darkest secrets to him/her because a hire power tells you, he/she is needed. UH-HUH. Sorry, not buying. As always, this is a subjective opinion and many might not agree. Anyway, if you liked book by Jim Butcher, Dan Wells or even Rob Thurman give this a go. They might be a litlle different but i think all are comparably excelent. :D less

Excellent! Better than the early Dresden books actually. Can't wait to read the second!

Kinda want to give it a lower rating simply because of the dissatisfying ending.
