review 1: I am a bit torn on how to rate this book. It was disturbing and I was confused at times – futuristic technology stories don’t typically interest me but I read the book straight-through. Parts of the story stayed with me for a couple of weeks after finishing, even though I didn’t feel there was anything particularly good about the writing and I couldn’t like any of the characters. So there was certainly something there that I can’t put my finger on – I am glad I read the book but if there was a sequel (and the ending suggested to me there might be), I probably wouldn’t read it.
