review 1: This book was beautiful. It's the perfect book to cuddle up with in a pile of crisp autumn leaves hidden under a tree; wrapped in a blanket, sipping hot cocoa, and staring out at your snowy front yard; on the front porch, drinking sweet tea, and watching as spring flowers start to pop up; or laying out by a pool while working on your tan. You can take it any where you go, and, believe me, you'll want to.
review 2: For me, this was a very powerful book. All the characters, major and minor were very well drawn and realistic. They really came alive for me. The author did a terrific job of dealing with so many different issues and pulling them all together beautifully. For me the major theme of the book is that as humans we all yearn to be seen for who we really ar... moree, and that you can't truly love a person if you don't see them. From the first page to the last, this theme is threaded skillfully through the story, while the characters deal with issues--grief, Alzheimer's, suicide, divorce, friendship, love...you name it. So much in this book and it's drawn together seamlessly. less
