review 1: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Now thís is a werewolf book! Not only is the cover captivating, but the storyline is equally charming and interesting. It doesn't take long to be sucked into the world of Tara, and once I started reading l didn't want to put it down. In a lonely alley, in the dark of night, Tara finds herself in quite the predicament. Yes, you guessed it, a werewolf attacks her. Against all odds, and to the great astonishment of both Tara and the reader, she manages to kill her attacker with unexpected maneuvering skills.As the realisation of what she had done dawns on her, rescue, in the form of a hero named Wes, comes to her aid.A series of events leads Tara to uncover the secret within her DNA and also puts a bullseye... more on her head. Enemies emerge from everywhere and this forces Tara into a future as leader of 'The Cause', as was predicted years ago. There is one problem though, she doesn't fit into any group or category, because she is a Dirty Blood, a thing to be despised and frowned upon in a world of pure bloods. I immensely enjoyed this first book in the Dirty Blood series and couldn't wait to start reading Cold Blood, book two. Heather Hildenbrand certainly knows how to capture and hold the attention of the reader, she is a true master of this genre.4-BombsReviewed by Soreta
review 2: ~~I received this in exchange for an honest review~~Where do I begin. I was pretty much hooked to this story (and read it in a couple of hours) right from the first chapter. I kept trying to figure out what was going on throughout the entire book, and every solution that I came up with, it was wrong. I didn't figure it out until it was happening. I like that in a book. Unpredictable. I don't like guessing what is going to happen in the middle and it actually does happen. THIS BOOK IS NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL!!!! This book keeps you on your toes. There is tons of mystery in this book. People kept in the dark for their protection, and a very surprising twist. Heather has a new reader right here! I plan on getting all of this series. I need more Wes and Tara!!! I need to know what happens. Yes, there is a small cliffhanger at the end, but that is to be expected!! Rome wasn't built in a day!! I can't wait to read the second book! Heather keeps your imagination going. less
