review 1: Die Welt ist im Wandel seit Astaroth die Weltherrschaft an sich gerissen hat. Die Rowan-Akademie ist gerade dabei ihr kleines Reich wieder aufzubauen als Dämonen nach Rowan kommen, um ihnen Astaroths Bedingungen für ein friedliches und ungestörtes Leben zu überbringen. Niemand scheint sich ihnen zu widersetzen, aber Max und David geben nicht so schnell auf. Jeder bekämpft die Dämonen auf seine Art und Weise und Max muss eine schwierige und gefährliche Reise antreten, auf der die Grenze zwischen "Gut" und "Böse" verwischt und es schwer wird Freund und Feind zu unterscheiden. Schafft er es sicher wieder nach Hause?? Welchen geheimen Plan verfolgt David?? Und welche Opfer müssen gebracht werden, damit die Dämonen in ihre Schranken gewiesen werden können?? Findet es... more raus!!(Spoilergefahr) Band 3 war wie seine Vorgänger einfach super!! Wir treffen viele alte bekannte wieder, Cooper, Nick, Connor, aber auch viele neue Gesichter wie Max Cousin den Fomorianer, den Dämon Prusias, Verwandte von David und viele andere. Max lernt unterwegs auch das kleine Mädchen Mina, das über scheinbar große Kräfte verfügt und sicherlich auch ihren besonderen Platz im 4 Band finden wird. Das Kapitel mit Max und Nick war so traurig, viel schlimmer noch als das mit Max und seinem Vater, beide Kapitel waren die schlimmsten für mich in allen drei Büchern!! Aber vielleicht gibt es bald einen Nick "Junior". Astaroth kommt auch vor, aber nur ganz kurz und zum Ende hin.Max hat sich einfach großartig entwickelt und ist fast bereit für die finale Schlacht und auch David noch einen größeren Entwicklungsschritt als sonst nach vorne gemacht. Ich war vorher ja etwas skeptisch wenn es um David ging, aber ich weis jetzt das er das was er macht so machen muss. Er versucht Max und die Anderen zu beschützen und das macht er halt auf seine ganz bestimmte Art und Weise, das was er macht ist vielleicht nicht immer 100% nachvollziehbar, aber er hat seine Gründe dafür. Max zeigt das er ein noch größerer Kämpfer ist als man anfangs gedacht hat. Er ist mutig, gibt nie auf und kämpft bis zu bitteren Ende für die Sachen an die er glaubt!!Fazit: Band 3 ist noch spannender, noch trauriger und noch düsterer als seine zwei Vorgänger!! Es liest sich super flüssig, die Figuren und die Handlungen wurden wieder sehr gut herausgearbeitet und es macht einfach nur Lust auf den 4 Band!! Ihr müsst es kaufen und lesen, nur dann könnt ihr es selbst erleben!!
review 2: This book is stunning the way that he portrays the way magic is affecting our outside world and that we have no way of knowing the way he makes it look as though its acutely possible is amazing. hes character work is my favorite though how he makes max this fierce savage warrior but at the same time you still see how hes a teenager. and how his choices affect him. but david the mighty sorcerer is still so powerful and not because of his magic alone at the same time you see how smart and clever he is and that's where the true power comes from. the way that he makes both max and david so powerful but at the same time they have that soft side too them that allows us as readers connect too them in a way that we feel as though we know them personally. iv read this book many times but every time i read it i still find my self loving every page there its any portions of the book that feel like just filler int ll the next part. all the book feels important. less

In this, the third installment of the Tapestry series by Henry Neff, the fantastical world of Rowan has slid into the distopian reshaping of the world under Astaroth. Max McDaniels is a refreshing re-articulation of the mythic hero that plays on both Irish folklore and the typical expectations of the young adult Bildingsroman. I would definitely recommend this text to anyone who reads young adult fantasy novels, but also any fans of the mythic hero archetype. Additionally, this text breaks the mold in continuous and unexpected ways. The occasional loss or tragedy keeps the tale fresh with both heartbreak and motivation.

It's actually funny to me that I ended up rating this book a five, because although I love The Tapestry Series this book was hugely depressing. That being said, the last chapter was so unexpected and so fun that I could read from read from start to finish again.Overall I would not say Henry Neff is a great writer. There are plenty of things I could complain about his style, grammar, vocab, etc... But Henry Neff is perhaps one of the greatest, most creative story tellers of our time. Kids can get a lot from his writing, if nothing else, their minds will be opened to an even broader imagination.
