review 1: this book is a good read (get it!? neh? neeh?)i really like the way the author draws Mei, and not just her but many other characters- one of them being Kazami. i also like how he gets more screentime in the manga (even so, i still wish he had more time to shine! less Mei more Kazami dammiiit!.)one thing to note is that this version is significantly less gory then the anime (i believe), and the death-rate is less, and where one does decide to call it a day it doesnt have as big an impact on the reader.one also can't help but note that Reiko-san has a butt-allergy and so rarely wears anything but ass-revealing hot-pants -_- shes rather annoying really- though she looks pretty.something that really erked me was the authors lack of knowledge on how to create suspense or excite... morement on whats going to happen next. you just simply dont know whats going on at all, its just a jumble of conversations and students chattering about "this" and "that" and "theyyy" (reference to Katitchs bleach review xD), thats not suspenseful, just downright annoying and confusing! if i hadnt seen the anime beforehand i fear i may have not had the foggiest what the storyline was about.despite all of that i still enjoyed reading it and there are defo note-worthy bits and bobs- not to mention the beautiful colour pages which i enjoyed guffawing at with my sis.
review 2: I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. In no way does that influence this review.First off, the artwork is absolutely beautiful. The colored pages at the start of each volume are amazing. I really enjoyed the story, it's very different than most manga I read. Page after page, I just couldn't put it down. It was so interesting, I just had to know what was going to happen. The story will keep you on the edge of your seat. You won't be disappointed with the ending. I thought I knew what was going to happen and I was completely wrong. I definitely recommend reading this manga and experience it for yourself. less
