review 1: I loved, loved, loved this book!! Just when I thought I figured everything out...lol yea, right. I love being surprised. Anyway, I'm going to read the next one in the series...but an FYI, don't read Barnes & Noble reviews. This isn't the first time I have read a review with spoilers in it, but it's the first time that it really, really bothered me. I loved the book so much I wanted to have the same experience during the second. Unfortunately, that won't happen now that I kinda know the ending.
review 2: 3.5 * Gosh, I so wish i could give half stars because this one is worth it. This book reminds me a little of Twilight, girl meets boy, boys tries to kill girl but this one is a little meaner, a little grimmer. Jake is a real bastard, no likey likey there ... moreand unlike Edward, Collin really feels like he could lose control any time, and unlike Bella, Ivy is quite powerful besides the fact she the unluckiest girl in the world. Eric is a little bit like Jacob but certainly not as whiny. I enjoyed the story and started the second in the series straight away, the book was easy to read and follow and is a bit more intense and scarier then Twilight. The Falevar defo bring more fear to me than the nomadic vampires or the Volturi though I'm not shaking in my boots, and the Martis, they are suppose to be the good guys but if i was Ivy I'm not sure i would completely trust them which she doesn't so i suppose that's the point. I felt the passion Ivy and Collin feel for each other, the writer really portraits it well on paper which was a nice surprise, Their relationship is at times confusing for them and the reader but then again I suppose that's the point and it keeps you guessing and wondering what will happen next. Overall, i would recommend this book to my fellow 30ish YA book lovers but only if they have a soft spot for fantasy-romance. less
