review 1: * English is not my native language, sorry for the mistakes.*I liked the first book, even though these kind of romance novels are not my thing. However I didn't like how the first one ended, I felt it was the writer's selfishness to write a second book that the readers expect much more, because everything was hanging in the air unfinished. That last part (of the previous book) didn't suit well the characters, but I was okay with it, mostly because I wanted to know more about their real feelings and to see their relationship develops and blooms, leaving behind their emotional burdens and start a new page. I don't think all of that would have fitted in the first book, so I wasn't disappointed that this book had a continuation. But I had high expactations...In the first few pa... moreges when the first turn came I thought I will drop this book immediatly. I mean...OH. MY. GOD. WHY?!It's so lame... I hate when writers do this! Force an alien storyline in the book just so they can keep up the tension and action in the story. (At least figure out something that is not this cliché! This book just transformed into a Sleeping Beauty kind of romance book for 6 year olds...) I felt like Peter's character had been replaced with someone else. He started behaving diferently as well. After that I wasn't that interested. The whole story dropped a few levels, felt fake and unreal, and didnt really keep up my interest. The cat-and-mouse game didnt work either, and the tension flatten so much that my long awaited 'scene' became 'meh'. The story was struggiling in the end with a lot of logic holes, even though it tried to save itself with some not-so-funny scenes and new characters. Neither the heroine nor the hero got her/his proper emotional weight lift and reached real peace in their hearts if you ask me. I didn't have the feeling that through the happenings they fully get their proper resolve since the story wasn't going around these problems.Ps.: I like Raffaello better.
review 2: It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud, but Ward was able to do just that with this book. I absolutely love Peter and Sydney, but I have to say that Mr, Turkey stole the show. Leave it to animal lover Syndey to rescue a "turkey" she finds in the middle of the road on their roadtrip back to New Jersey where she has to confront her family and her past. For me, this is the best book so far, and Peter is my favorite Ferro! less
