review 1: (one comment for all series)4- entertaining-but-frustrating starsOMG, i can't believe that after the third (or was it the fourth?) book, and the SECRET revealed is just...that! I have kept on reading all through the all the (mini)books wanting to finally, finally know what the secrets are surrounding Cole. I have been thinking of all those deep, dark ones (sorta like christian's or gideon's or the likes), but nooooooo! it was like, seriously? you call that a secret?! jeez!anyway, the author had kept me reading, so i guess that's a plus point... but as to the actual secret, it was quite disappointing :(...but, hey, it's a HEA, so i guess it's a plus! :)
review 2: Out of the 5 books in this series, this one is the most intense (in every way)Secrets is a series o
... moref 5 short books (they are all out, so the reader doesn't have to wait to know how the story ends). Contemporary romance story between a young woman in her 20's and her boss/intership supervisor in his 30's. Sexually explicit content (especially in this book). Hot, hot, hot! If you haven't read the previous 3 books, I highly recommend it, otherwise you may be confused as to who the characters are and what's going on in the story.Book 4 takes off right where books 3 ended, in total emotional chaos! Emotions run high throughout this entire book for both Anna and Cole (anger, sadness, desperation, resignation, determination, hope, lust, love, happiness, fright, etc.). Where book 3 has everything come crashing down, book 4 starts to putting pieces back together only to end in a "OMG, what is going on" moment. If you've never experienced H.M Ward's serials before, let me warn you beforehand, they are highly addictive! She's big on suspensful cliffhangers and she loves to tease her readers by taking her time describing the most emotional scenes... I love her style of writting, full of witty banter, urban lingo & her female characters are strong, smart & determined. less
