review 1: I’m going to cheat a little bit and review all 5 of the books from the “Wool” series together. They are short enough that they really should be read as one book. The only book that really stands on its own is the first one; which in itself is a fantastic little short story. There really didn’t have to be any other books but I’m very glad there are. The first book is a classic sci-fi type short with a killer twist at the end. I didn’t see it coming; though I don’t think anything is lost if you do. The book is primarily character development with one burning question… don’t you love that. Anyway, after that book we get into an actual novel style story. The books progress through the stories of a few main characters and do a fantastic job of keeping the read... moreer engaged and interested in the overall story while also throwing in a good dose of action. Even towards the end I found myself surprised by twists and turns in the story that were also believable. It’s the kind of book that has you putting yourself in everybody’s shoes just a tad and feeling conflicted at every turn.
review 2: I didn't like the ending as much as the other books. Once the idea behind the series and the title was revealed I felt the story lost some momentum. I really liked Juliette but I actually hope that there aren't more sequels and that this is just a stand alone. I can't imagine that the stories that could continue from this would be as original as this one, the premise would have to be same. It would be nice if it just ended here. less
