review 1: I won a copy of this from Picador via Facebook and am excited to review it! It's the story of the fall of a prominent family after a tragedy and how the aftermath is dealt with. I liked that the author kept the characters realistic to the end, didn't try to make it some unrealistic fairy tale ending. I felt empathetic toward the characters while still seeing them as definitely flawed individuals. Very glad to have read it!
review 2: Surprisingly, I connected with the dysfunctional family in this novel, though at times it was difficult to even like them. It was an interesting study of the emotions and feelings of the privileged. The death of a child, divorce, infidelity, fear of committment, etc. are all covered in detail here. Another book that I just could not get into - gave up after a couple of chapters.

Didn't finish the book. Couldn't get into the story, it was too disjointed.
