review 1: Ava Lee, a forensic accountant, helps her "Uncle" find and return money stolen from people and businesses.This one is about a case that takes her from her home in Toronto to Seattle, Hong Kong, Guyana and the British Virgin Islands. Along the way she meets Captain Roberts, whose help she needs, but who wants to help himself to much more of the money than agreed upon.Very good, and recommended.
review 2: Merkwürdiges Buch. Die ersten hundertzwanzig Seiten tut sich nichts weiter, außer, dass die Protagonistin in eleganten Hotel-Lobbies abhängt, telefoniert und ständig behauptet, wie toll sie ist. Stinklangweilig. Aber ab dem Moment, wo sie in Guyana auftaucht, ist ordentlich was los, das ist fetzig und spannend geschrieben. Das Ende ist dann doch eher halbher... morezig gestaltet. Dem Buch hätte man ein zupackenders Lektorat gewünscht. less
