review 1: Liked this much better than the first Malcolm Fox book by Ian Rankin. Much faster-moving plot, and the character was more sympathetic this go-around. If there were another in the series already, I'd probably read it. That said, I don't think I'll keep going with the series if/when another is published; too much else out there by other writers that entertains me more. Been a good ride with Mr Rankin for the most part, though! Seems only fitting to finish out my time with him with this: "Here's tae us; wha's like us? Gey few, and they're a'deid."
review 2: I like this police procedural murder mystery. The protagonist is a divorced, middle-aged male with an ailing father and an older sister. He heads a group from the Complaints, an outdated term for the internal i... morenvestigation section of the police in Scotland. The investigation makes for some twisted plotting and the characters and dialog are good. He has many works out and I'll be looking for more by him. less
