review 1: Sima's dream was to open this shop in Brooklyn, and help women who wanted to feel good about their undergarments and their bodies. Yet Sima is ashamed of her own body and has many secrets, some hidden from her friends, others even from her husband of many years, Lev. Enter Timna, a young, beautiful Israeli immigrant, who needs a job, and takes Sima's offer of alterations in the shop. All of Sima's buttons get pushed with Timna, but Ilana's debut novel does end well.
review 2: I picked this book because it was on the “Don’t Miss List” – new at the local library. Sima (pronounced Simma) runs a lingerie shop in her Orthodox Jewish Brooklyn neighborhood. She hires Timna, a beautiful young Israeli to help out in the store as a seamstress. Sima is obsesse
... mored with Timna – annoyingly so, stalker-like even – trying to treat her as the child she never had and the savior to her lonely life. The book goes back and forth between Sima trying to figure out what is going on with Timna, and Sima’s own infertility and her failed relationship with her long-suffering husband, Lev. Would I recommend this book? Probably not. There was really nothing wrong with it, but there was nothing stunning about it either. I also didn’t really care for the narration. less

Started off great-then story got into Simas life drama. I wanted more about the stores patrons.

Not that great of a book. Some loose ends that never got tied up and a wavering plot line.
Hello
The storyline was different. It was a sad story to a degree; but the ending was happier.

I recommend this book. You really find yourself rooting for the heroine.
