review 1: It's quite interesting to read the original concept that inspired a full-length novel- to see where the seeds began. R is not R in this story. He lives in a dusty field. He wanders and has a zombie girlfriend. The one thread that I enjoyed see is the idea of emotions being tied to consuming a person's brain. I couldn't be mroe happy that Marion decided to polish and mould this idea into Warm Bodies, rather than leaving this story in a notebook somewhere to be forgotten.
review 2: Warm Bodies is one of my favorite books.I was very glad to have stumbled upon this little seed of an idea. Reading it, I recognized a lot of plot points (and I think even lines) made it to the full length novel. It's beautifully written, even the more grotesque moments ("my penis fell ... moreoff two weeks ago", "my intestines dragging by my feet"), and oddly tender and sweet (just like the actual novel). less
