review 1: I understand that you sacrifice a lot in short stories because they are so fast paced. but 1 thing you should not sacrifice is rational thought. Ian and Mary "Raven" Joseph AKA Virgin Mary are both bipolar. they swing from 1 side of the spectrum to the other in the same sentence. "Oh Mary you are evil I'm going to kiss you I want you and I want to kill you." "Ian you are psychotic and so hot with a perfect but. OMG you are high lets go steam up your car windows." "Mary I'm a virgin. I promised God, my Father I wouldn't have sex. Now please get wet for me as I feel you up." This story could be really good with a little reorganization. I wanted to like thus story and I haven't decided rather to continue with the other episodes. Maybe it will pull itself together? One can hop... moree but do I want to spend the cash to find out? hmmm.
review 2: I already love this author as Megg Jensen so I was eager and curious to jump into her new series under a new name. Isobel Lucas' writing is much more edgy and gritty than Megg's. But it's also just as fantastic. I loved this novelette. It was a quick read that kept my attention from beginning to end. Mary seemed like a typical, shy Catholic Girl until she got on stage as the drummer in her new rock band. I was blown away by the incident backstage and a little more curious when Ian explained himself, even if I was with Mary about him spouting insane crap at the time. What happened to change my mind... the wings... just wow. I wouldn't have seen that coming. I'm definitely going to keep reading this series to find out what happens! less
