review 1: A mixed bag. Some stories took too long to get to the romance part. In such a short word count, I wanted the lovin' to start already (and I'm not talking about sex). It took too long to introduce the second MC in some cases.And the harping on the ages, was a bit much in some of the stories, even though I know it was the theme of the book. Who knew that 42-45 year olds were so ancient?My favorites were: "Hunting Season," "Loving Again," "Picture This" and "Granddad's Cup of Tea."
review 2: I liked the stories but not "loved" them. I feel strong emotions when reading but I can't sympathize with this one, mostly because it felt... alien to me due to the nature of the characters. "daddy" and uhm... people with rather advanced age is a little foreign to me when it c... moreomes to these themes. I reckon it's target audience would like it but... it's not my cup of tea. bit too strong for me I guess. This was one of my ventures into the not so usual for me and it's not a bad experience, just... awkward. less
