This week has been good, October is awesome! Heavy rains today sunshine the next day, don’t you love that? The rains flooded my home yesterday, but so was everybody’s so life goes on!
First weeks are usually when I do my monthly planning and it was one hell of a plan I laid out for October. One of my monthly goals is to read a novel, a business magazine and an entertainment magazine. For the magazines my usual subscription is Entrepreneur, Forbes, GQ and National Geographic History I will keep the others secret. I’m reading a novel called Still Water – written by Stuart Harrison. Just started out but I’m digging it already! It’s set in a small fishing town in the US East Coast called St. George. Ella, a beautiful tomboy running for mayor of the town, is charged with the murder of a fisherman rival of hers. Howard, who’s the candidate running against Ella, is campaigning for modernization in the town, proposing the building of a marina to attract rich holiday goers. Ella is on the conservative side, campaigning for things to remain the same. I’m looking forward to finding out which side wins. A question lingering in my mind however is, how important of a role will the murder charge play in determining who becomes mayor? I personally love this book because of the bigger theme of cultural dynamics – tradition vs modernization. You can get it on Amazon.
Thursday, 5th October, was World Teacher’s Day, don’t forget to say hello to a teacher this month. Also, the Fifa under – 17 men’s world cup started in India yesterday and I’m hoping to watch a good display of skills, Ghana’s winning the trophy by the way. Hey, thanks for reading my thoughts, see you next week!
