review 1: This is probably going to be the oddest complaint I have ever made about a book, but... I could not picture the 'creature' at all. I felt like I could get glimpses of part of it, but overall, I just could not picture it. This book was good, but it could have been great. I actually read it after I saw "Holes In The Ground" , which is the sequel to this book. That book is next, of course. Hoping for more insight.
review 2: I really enjoyed it. The characters were interesting and you never quite had a complete handle on the creature in which the story it built around. The characters and story were developed with good timing throughout the book, maintaining your interest and sense of intrigue. I found it to be one I was loathe to put down. Don't want to be a spoile
... morer so all I will say is the only problem I really had was a couple of spots in which some editing errors were made, (a pet peeve that seems to be more and more prevalent with self publishing) and the end was not quite what I would have preferred to see. Other than that, a great read, and I would definitely recommend this to others. The ONLY reason I am giving only 4 stars are the issues I mentioned, but I will definitely be looking for others by this author and the apparent pseudonyms he has written under. I will try to find those out since my memory is failing me and post those as well. less

Interesting mystery but way too much description and metaphor that slows the story down to a crawl.
