review 1: I give this book 1.5 stars. Jed is A$$HOLE with a capital A, and Phoebe is an IDIOT with a capital I. After the things that Jed did and said to her, if she had an ounce of dignity, she would have never spoken to him again. She hasn't seen him in 5 years and within the week, she fall into bed with him and allows him to push him around like she is garbage.Then they try to save the book by having Jed confess his undying love for her. If he really loved her he would have sought her out years prior. He was ready to marry some other girl simply for the heck of it. The he sees Phoebe and decides, hey I still want her. I'll restart my affair. Jed did not deserve forgiveness. That is the problem with some of these H books, they make the guys major aholes and they try to save the bo... moreok at the end.
review 2: Wealthy Jed Sabbides wined and dined Phoebe Brown and finally claimed her for his own. Innocent Phoebe was in love with him and absolutely delighted to tell him that she was carrying his child. Unfortunately, her revelation struck Jed at a bad time. The despondent mother unfortunately suffered an accident terminating the pregnancy and Phoebe Brown quickly faded into obscurity, disappearing from Jed Sabbides’ life forever.Years later, Jed and Phoebe are thrown together again in England and Jed can’t deny that his former love seems unaccountably nervous.
