review 1: Typically I enjoy a Harlequin story that features a Greek tycoon, but at one point I seriously doubted that I would finish this one. I just never warmed to the main characters. Phoebe had so little backbone where Jed was concerned that I found her incredibly irritating and I had trouble generating even the tiniest bit of empathy for her. Jed was such an arrogant, manipulative S.O.B that even after he came to terms with his feelings for Phoebe he continued to piss me off. This story had all the standard elements: misunderstandings, a filthy rich alpha hero who won't acknowledge his feelings, an interfering assistant, the moment of revelation/redemption by the hero, and a HEA ending, but as a whole the story lacked that something that made me root for the lovers. I'll probab... morely try another story by this author. Hopefully this is an exception to Baird's typical style.
review 2: When the heroine told the hero she was pregnant, he said that it wasn't suppose to happen, he didn't want a child and that his mistress wasn't suppose to provide him one. The heroine didn't know that she was his mistress, she thought she was his girlfriend and was devastated. A day after the hero left, the heroine tripped and fell losing the baby. More drama ensued and the heroine left. Years later they run into each other again and the heroine has a child hat looks exactly like the hero, yet the hero is confused how this could be. Once facts are sorted out from fiction, he discovers he loves the heroine and her son, which is coincidentally his as well. Now he won't let her go. less
