What We Saw at Night
review 1: Well. When I started this, I thought it was really going to be good. Interesting premise--3 kids with a terminal allergy to sunlight that forces them to "live" at night while everyone else is asleep. A "murder" mystery. Now that I'm finished though, I can only give this book 2 stars. The characters, for me, were pretty one-dimensional. Except for Rob--he had no dimensions. I wanted them to develop. The plot kept me wanting to read--really, I couldn't put it down. I couldn't wait to find out the answers to all my questions. Then it ended. And I was left with many more questions than answers. I know there is a second book. But, HEY AUTHORS, sometimes I don't WANT a series or a trilogy. Can't we just tell a whole story? This ending was one of the most unsatisfying I ha... moreve ever read--abrupt--to put it mildly. It was on its way to 4 stars, but I just can't get past that non-finish.
review 2: What We Saw At Night was pretty good. The plot was interesting and had a lot of twists. The setting was good; realistic. In my opinion, the characters were okay. I thought Juliet was the most developed out of the three. The main character, Allie, was sometimes really annoying (she would get really upset and cry over small things). To me, the ending was a little dissatisfying. I would recommend this book to people who like reading mysteries. less
