review 1: I went back and forth as to whether or not I enjoyed Coffee and Cockpits. Was this a sweet love story between besotted pilot Liam and flight attendant/future pilot Nina? Maybe...but I tended to find Liam's actions during the first portion of the book bordering on stalkerish & creepy. And on one hand, there's some graphic sex included in this book, yet at other times the characters talk like high school or college students ("I've had a crush on you for almost a year." "I've liked you for almost a year, and it means a lot to me for you to grow to like me, too." "My body had absorbed the sun and wanted nothing more than to chillax." etc.). I had a tough time reconciling the youthful tone with the age/professions of the characters. And the twist...well it was certainly someth... moreing I didn't see coming. At first I kind of liked it, and then what Liam did made me not like it so much. I don't know, this entire book left me a bit confused as to whether I actually enjoyed it or not. It's worth taking a chance on, esp. since so many seemed to really like it. Maybe. I really don't know.
review 2: Nina is a strong woman who knows what she wants and nothing will deter her from her dream- she's not going to be a flight attendant her whole life- one day she'll fly the skies behind the controls. Liam is a strong, self-assured pilot... on the surface. The chink in his armor? The ever-growing love for Nina. In Samoa, Nina's barriers fall and Liam may just get the happy ending he's been dreaming of... And then the world unravels again, leaving the reader stunned and begging for more... Or at least I was! I finished this book in one sitting, as I just couldn't bear to put it down and go to sleep. I highly recommend this book, and I'm eager to read more from this author. 5 stars! less
