review 1: So I'm going to give away a dirty little secret folks...as wild and dead sexy as Dirty Little Freaks is...it's also a really sweet love story...and about near the last quarter of the book, downright romantic. I have read The Therapist and The Beast so I already had an idea going in what kind of twisty wild stuff to expect from this author, but once I got past the shocking language, wild sexual antics (some public displays as well) and a really HOT and dirty threesome...I found a really honest and moving love story with an HEA. Jade is a strong and likeable heroine...she makes no apologies for her sexual appetite or her job working in a sex shop. When she is sort of set up with Hush, the bass player of her roommate and BFF Eva's boyfriend's punk rock band, she meets THE ONE... more who will make everyone else pale in comparison. What follows is a pretty accurate commentary of the typical rock lifestyle mixed up with parental disapproval and learning to make decisions and live your own life regardless of what is expected of you.I think this is my favorite Jaden Wilkes book so far. A really fast paced and crazy rush of a wild ride...and I didn't have to "fencepost" at all =)***** 5 ***** "sex and drugs and rock till you drop" stars
review 2: I totally thought I had this book pegged. I love Jaden Wilkes writing and I knew when I bought this I would love it but it wasn't what I was expecting. DLF is a punk story of a broken girl Jade (I loved her) and a punk rock boy Hush. I assumed like an ass that this would be dark porn like The Therapist or The Beast but THIS was different. It started that way for sure but it worked it's way into my heart and it was sweet and endearing and made me so happy :D I was really rooting for these two characters. Reviews with no spoilers are so hard!!!! All I will say is it was a great story and had more heart than a lot of the New Adult books I read AND it was sexy as all f@ck. read it... Read all her books cuz this girl is bad ass. less
