review 1: Another good book from James Allen. The human soul often has two masters contending for supremacy - the master of Self and the master of Truth. "There is self and there is Truth; where self is, Truth is not, where Truth is, self is not". In order to know and realize Truth we must be prepared to sacrifice and renounce self (our pride, avarice, vanity, self-will, self-indulgent, self-centeredness) so that it no longer holds us in bondage. Basically the message of this book is that the Way to Peace lies in conquering ourselves."This is peace, To conquer love of self and lust of life,To tear deep-rooted passion from the heart,To still the inward strife."
review 2: I wish I could speak the way James Allen writes, he could write about the weather and make it interest
... moreing. Fortunately or unfortunately he's writing about concepts of self and freeing the mind of the delusions of self -- it may lack thorough rationale to verify the often dogmatic-sounding prose -- but look past that and the message is solid; universal themes of freedom and selflessness tinged with Buddhist and Gnostic philosophy. less

In simple words James Allen tells the behavior a person in search for peace must observe.

Love the message- found the text lacking in a flow that made it enjoyable to read.
