review 1: This book would have earned itself 5/5 if only it hadn't had the cliche characters. Why did the old timer detective have to be a tired white male but more annoying why did the female detective have to be a glamour model to hold the heros attention. She a tall, willowy blonde with the looks of a supermodel. Why could she not be short or plump or wear specs. Why to get a man's interest do we still have to be attractive as well as intelligent. She could shoot as well as kick arse, can she not do that and be a size 14?? Having said that I'm straight into the follow-up, I'm hoping for better, I do hope he doesn't disappoint.

A very creative and clever story with surprise twists and turns at every corner and an unexpected character at the end. I highly recommend this book to any crime thriller enthusiast out there. I cannot wait for the next instalment in the Jefferson Winter Series. less
