Politically Correct Bedtime Stories
review 1: This book describes a lot of words, a good read is one of them. While my boyfriend and I did our nightly bike rides, he read Rapunzel, Cinderella and Snow White to me. There are no pictures in the copy that I found at the library but in our minds we can imagine what was going on. It was very interesting on how we grew up watching the princess stories unfold and how amazing they are. After reading this book I pondered on if this is the real stories and Disney changed them around to make them be good and the princess be independent. The story that I enjoyed most was Rapunzel because it had a realistic ending and ended in good rather than death. In the Cinderella story, I found the words amusing and quite entertaining. An example would be instead of women it would be "wommon"... more and step-sister would be sisters-of-step. The wording does switch back and forth for women and I couldn't quite find out why the author did this. Finally, Snow White's story was, well, very inappropriate for children to read, but I did enjoy the part when the queen is talking to the mirror and it responds with witty replies.
review 2: I had my eye on this eversince I found out about its existence. A bookworm friend auctioned a copy of this book to the public via Facebook but unfortunately, I wasn't able to win the bidding. After a couple of frustrated, desperate tries, VIOLA! I found a copy online. I've read it twice in a row and I am amazed at the consistence of its hilarity. For those who are unusually sensitive to satirical, metaphorical, ironic, witty humour or have a soft-spot for political correctness, then I highly recommend this book. I'm sorry, Brothers Grimm, but you're not the only one with a bedtime story to tell. Tales with rude awakenings and reality-bites that tickles instead of bruises, dubbed as Fairy Stories of the Modern World, I bring you... 'Politically Correct Bedtime Stories'"Hello, Cinderella, I am your fairy godperson, or individual deity proxy, if you prefer. So, you want to go to the ball, eh? And bind yourself into the male concept of beauty? Squeeze into some tight-fitting dress that will cut off your circulation? Jam your feet into high-heeled shoes that will ruin your bone structure? Paint your face with chemicals and make¬up that have been tested on nonhuman animals?""Oh yes!", she said instantly.5 stars out of 5. :) less

For adults; a few bad words. Some innuendo. If you need a laugh at ludicrousness, this is for you.
