Delacorte Books for Young Readers
review 1: One of the DANGDEST books for young readers ever. There is a new and crazy idea on every page, like Daniel Pinkwater meets L. Frank Baum, and the great disadvantage is that keeping track of the various ideas and plot threads requires a road map before you're even a quarter of the way through. But keep it up -- there's some truly astonishing images and absurd humor in there, and there need to be more wildly experimental, outrageous books like this in the world.
review 2: This book is where the Series of unfortunate events meet Alice in Wonderland. Talk about a strange book. This nonsensical story will have you laughing in places and alternately being disgusted in others. This is the story of Jo, who at her birth was destined to be the All-Devouring Mother and
... moredestroy the universe. Quite an undertaking for a baby. Her aunt Lily spirited her away and raised her in a remote part of California. It is now her 13th year and things get out of control when a black box is dropped on them setting off a wild and unbelievable adventure. less

A certain kind of absurdity, and I mean that in the best possible way. Had a lot of fun with it. :)

This book was really imaginative to the point of being absurd, and had a sense of humor.

This is probably the most ridiculous and quotable book I own.
